Do you love quirky little romances? Do you just fall head over heels for blossoming book characters? Then you should read Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell.

The atmosphere this story is surrounded by is truly exhilarating, and intoxicating. Once you start reading, you get addicted and can’t stop.

The escalating romance between Eleanor and Park is both adorable and unexpected.

I started gushing in awe of the constant plot line as soon as I finished the first page. The characters have such strong stand points and shadows that follow them throughout the book.

Eleanor is a shy girl who lives with her mom, four siblings, and heinous step-father. She is very insecure about her looks, because she is a heavier set girl with flaming red locks for hair. She tends to keep to herself and push people away, well most people anyway…except Park.

Park is a small Korean boy who lives in the same neighborhood as Eleanor. He is a bit more on the popular side but still keeps his modesty. Park has never really been much into girls, and when he met Eleanor he wasn’t crazy about her attitude or the way he dressed. That is until he touched her hand for the first time.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a fun, daring, and lovable story to follow. This 80’s themed novel is definitely worth a trip to the library.
