Kye Briggs: Football Star!

Lexi Allums, Feature Writer

Kye Briggs has dreamed of playing football ever since he can remember, and with the help of our coaches and JV team Thursday, that dream came true!

Coach Hammack came up with the idea, and Coach Little made the call to Linden-Kildare’s athletic director to set up a plan. The Tigers were excited to be a part of Kye’s first game and helped make sure it would be a positive experience.

When asked if Kye was ready, his response all day was, “Heck yeah!!”

We asked Coach Little if he sees this type of thing often, and he said, “Honestly, I see it a few times a year at different schools and in different sports.”

The JV Wildcats, just as excited as Kye, showed him the ins and outs of the game after the coaches received parental consent.

Briggs scored during the first 30 seconds of the game, spiked the ball without penalty, and was met with roaring applause from both the JV team and the fans.

Kye reported that he was a little sore the next day, but he was very proud of his performance and grateful for the opportunity!
