HISD’s G.O.A.T.s

Mr. Gray-No Easy Day basically tracks the military life of Mark Owens as his journey through the military begins, including his training as a Navy SEAL, and finally the “highlight” operation of his career when he was a member of the team that killed Osama Bin Laden in Operation Neptune Speer. This book appeals to me as it shows the true spirit and determination of the human spirit and what dedication people can have toward a common goal. It is very entertaining and has a lot of interesting behind the scenes information about the military in general and the teams involved.

Mrs. Shipwash-In the book To Kill a Mockingbird, it is a sin to kill a mockingbird because the bird doesn’t hurt anyone and sings and is beautiful. There are several characters in the book who are looked down on because of race, intellectual abilities, or financial status. These people are treated differently and find themselves in situations that lead to being falsely accused of a crime, shunned by society, and even killed for no apparent reason.  Each are compared to the mockingbird because they really never bothered anyone. In society people judge others without really knowing the person or the circumstances from which they come. Get to know people before passing judgement.
