HHS New Year’s Resolutions!

Hannah Wilson, Staff Writer

The new year calls for New Year’s Resolutions! This is a time for children, teens, and adults to make a promise to themselves they intend to keep (although many never do) throughout the year. This tradition goes all the way back to the Babylonians, who would make promises to their “gods” in hopes that they would be in their good favor for the upcoming year.

Although it has transformed into more of a promise to ourselves, we continue this tradition in 2020. Our very own Harleton High School has decided to share with us their own personal goals for this year:

Ava Scalia-Get closer to God, let go of some baggage, and get physically healthier

Kaden Ramsey-Go to the gym and change food habits

Christian Deleo-Eat healthier

Natalie Wright-Be less selfish

Matt Wright-Gain weight

Lucas McLemore-Be healthier physically and mentally

Sammy Duncan-Love life

Brody Kriegel-Be a better person overall

Joseph Denton-Not be as stressed

Coach Brown-Be more organized and get back to working out. Also, “Doing the impossible and eating healthy.”

Kailey Wright-Find joy in the small things

Meredith Sellers-Have consistent self-confidence

Ashanti Johnson-Try to have more peace

Marla Ready-No procrastination and lose weight if possible

From being physically healthier to our mindsets, HHS is looking forward to reaching its goals! Author Vern McLennan, said it best, “What the new year brings to you will depend a great deal on what you bring to the new year.”
