HHS Inktober

Inktober was started in 2009 by Jake Parker, a comics short-story creator, concept artist, illustrator, and animator. He started it as a challenge to himself to improve his drawing and inking skills while also encouraging good drawing habits. HHS Art again participated in the Inktober challenge where anyone interested creates an ink drawing and posts it online.

HHS students said that while their favorite part of Inktober was sketching new things, including details, and the actual inking, the hardest part of Inktober for them  was the starting process of working on prompts and not having the materials they need to finish because other kids take them from the classroom.

Favorite prompts were any that were challenging yet interesting but especially Halloween-themed and gory.  Most students’ preferred art styles are illustrations, comic, cartoon, still life, abstract, realism, and semi realistic.
